MILLER IN MAY HOME TOUR HIGHLIGHTS CHARACTER AND CHARM
Six homes and two gardens to showcase the charismatic spaces that make up an established historic neighborhood.
Oklahoma City, OK -- For its 21st year, Oklahoma City’s Miller neighborhood is excited to open its doors and welcome visitors. Six homes and two gardens will be showcased on the 2022 Miller in May Home Tour. Each stop on the self-guided tour promises a unique look at the character created through the homeowners’ appreciation of historic residences blended with their personal style.
“After a pandemic-related hiatus, we are beyond thrilled to host this year’s tour,” said Mike Stuart, a Miller resident for over two decades. “Miller in May has always been our biggest event, and those funds go a long way in maintaining the beauty and integrity of the neighborhood. But more than that, it’s the chance to welcome people into our hidden gem of a community. There are so many visitors who come year after year. We’re excited to see them again and all the new faces, too.”
Miller in May takes place on Sunday, May 22, from 11am-5pm. Tickets are $10 and include access to the hospitality center at Kramer House at 1215 N. Miller Blvd. Tickets for this self-guided tour may be purchased in advance at 23rd Street Antique Mall, Bad Granny’s Bazaar, and Classic Silks; at any tour stop on the day of the event; or online at MILLER IN MAY HOME TOUR 2022 Tickets, Sun, May 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM | Eventbrite.
On the eve of the tour (May 21 from 5:30-9:00 pm), Miller by Moonlight offers guests a festive evening complete with cocktails, dinner, live music, a silent art auction, and guided tours of the homes. Tickets are $30 per person, and reservations are required no later than May 16. Those wishing to attend this pre-tour party may purchase tickets online at MILLER IN MAY HOME TOUR 2022 Tickets, Sun, May 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM | Eventbrite or request tickets via email at equineguy79@gmail.com.

About Miller Neighborhood
Miller’s Boulevard Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The neighborhood was platted in August 1907 – three months before statehood – by George Miller, one of Oklahoma City’s earliest homebuilders. The original homestead was located on 11 acres on the southeast corner of the neighborhood. In 1915, George and Nellie Miller moved into their newly built home at 1221 N. Miller Boulevard.
According to the National Register of Historic Places, “The district is overwhelmingly dominated by the Tudor Revival style with the Bungalow/Craftsman style being the second most popular. Both of these styles were popular for homes in Oklahoma City during the first decades of the twentieth century. However, the dominance of the Tudor Revival style, combined with the cohesive design of the neighborhood, allows the Miller's Boulevard Historic District to be readily identified as a significant and distinguishable entity amongst Oklahoma City’s residential development.”
Miller’s boundaries are NW 10th to NW 16th and N. May Avenue to N. Villa Avenue. The American elm tree just north of the Miller Boulevard gazebo is a descendant of the Survivor Tree on the grounds of the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
Miller Neighborhood Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
